Darrah Torres, M.S. CCC-SLP
Darrah is the Owner and Clinical Director of Talkin' Tikes. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders in 2003 and her Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology in 2005, both from Texas Woman's University.
Darrah has over 10 years of experience in the following settings: the public school systems, outpatient pediatric hospital, and in the university setting. She has not only provided treatment for numerous patients with a variety of disorders/diagnoses, but she has also held management roles in these organizations as well. Darrah has lead her teams in program development to meet the needs of their patients and families.
Throughout her career, she has also supervised graduate students and graduates completing their clinical fellowship. Darrah is certified in both the Hanen Approach (It Takes Two To Talk) and the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Feeding Approach.
When she is not working with patients directly through Talkin' Tikes, she serves as an adjunct Clinical Instructor at Texas Christian University (TCU), educating the next generation of speech language pathologists.
Darrah is licensed through both the Texas Speech-Language Hearing Association (TSHA) and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Darrah and her husband call North Texas their home. When not working, they enjoy traveling, relaxing at home, and trying new recipes in the kitchen!
